Yahoo.com is a very High ranking search engine that is also in part a News, social media and a blogging Platform.
Yahoo is in fact a massive entertainment website that has millions of users and thousands of videos, music files and is second only to Google in size. It is also part Social Media site and thats what we are interested in today.
In terms of a social media site Yahoo has a little jem tucked away that is probably the most under utilised social media site online right now.
Yahoo answers
Yahoo answers is a membership site that like the rest of Yahoo is free. So its very popular with every social group currently around. The concept is very simple. You go sign up for an account and then you log in. Once inside you can begin to accumulate “Points” which allow you to move up the ladder. O.K so to get points you just answer questions on topics you have some knowledge on. The topics are extremely varied and cover everything from Politics to gardening, cooking to sport and so on. If you answer a question you get 2 points. If you ask a question it costs you 5 points. There are several levels and more questions you answer the higher you go. There are limits which prevent abuse so once you have answered your quota for the day you have to wait 24 hours before you can go answer more. After a couple or three weeks of doing this you should be well on your way up the ladder and be able to answer an increasing amount of questions every day.
Its important to always give your very best researched answer to as many questions as you can every time. The whole idea is to rapidly advance to a point where you can answer an unlimited number of questions as often as you like. So in order to do that you must pick subjects that are both relevant to your niche or the business you are trying to promote and you MUST always give a complete answer to every question. Now questions are generally “open” for answers for a total of 4 days. Then the person who asked that question chooses the best answer. Yahoo awards that winner with 10 points. Another reason to always provide solid information in every answer. The more times you win the higher your points tally etc.
O.K so how is this going to attract new clients and new visitors to your website or promotion.
At the bottom of the box where you enter your answer to a question, there is a resource or source box. If you check the majority of answers provided very few provide a source for the information they have provided. This is a goldmine of opportunity if you act appropriatelly.
Now as an example, you are promoting a product on learning to play the guitar. You go find an “Open question” in this field and you provide a solid answer to the question being asked. Once you are happy with that you put a Link to your promotion inside the Source box pointing back to that promotion.
Now if you give a solid answer to the question and provide a good quality product in your link, you are going to get traffic right to that link in droves. This is incredibly targetted traffic because people who are searching for “Answers to questions” on the site are looking for solutions to a problem.
Your job is to provide a solid well chosen answer and a great resource to drive sales. Its really that simple.
