Effective Article marketing: Creating The Perfect Resource Box.
Yesterday I told you all about why Article marketing is big business even in 2009. Articles bring traffic, money and leads to your business. However the one thing I hammered home in that post was the need to follow implicitly the article websites Terms Of Service.
One of the most important elements of your article marketing effort should be in your resource box which generally speaking is just below your Article once its published. This is where you add the all important link(s) to your site, from which you stand to get all the benefits from your article marketing effort.
So it’s very important to ensure that you construct your resource box in the most effective way. There is a right way and a very WRONG way to do this.
A strong resource box can radically impact the amount of traffic you receive from your article. Traffic means money so if you make an error or create a poor resource box then you are losing money. Its that simple!!
If you’re unsure what this ‘resource box’ actually is, it would be a good idea for you to take a look at an existing article I made a little while ago and you will see a typical example of a great resource box.
Here’s some quick do’s and don’ts to help you make sure that your resource box is done right.
Resource Box: Do’s
1. Give your author name
2. Provide a little bio info–why should the reader trust your judgement and what makes you
an authority to write an article on this subject.
3. Why should the reader click through to your website? Give them a reason to go visit via your link.
4. List your fully qualified URL that includes ‘http://’ at the beginning
5. A single link is good. However its better yet if you also use a keyword loaded link too.
6. Keep your resource box to 450 characters or less – too much and it reads like an article itself.
7. Check to ensure that your links work before you go live.
8. For best results, create a new resource box for each individual article that you write, Make the resource box fit the tone and content of the
article and its subject
Resource Box Don’ts
1. There is no need to write about your self in any way save for mentioning your name.
Yes write to explain why you should betaken seriously but thats it.
2. There’s no need to include phone, fax, and email info–it’s best to just include a website address as the contact info (other info can quickly change)
because some articles get syndicated around the web you want the information
to remain “as is” for as long as possible.
3. Don’t redirect to a website that is of questionable nature (gambling, Porography etc)
because the editors check all links and this activity is closely watched and breaches
most Article submission services terms of service.
By following these guidelines, you should be able to craft an effective resource box that will deliver on the Articles full potential. Which is always, More leeds, more traffic and more money for you.
Tomorrow I shall show you why you should complete your Author Biography and whats important and whats not.
What's your next move, after having read this post?
