SEO: Off Page Factors to Boost Your Rankings Fast. | Search Engine Optimisation strategies for more traffic

External search engine optimization extends the reach of your influence to make sure that any websites that link to you do so in such a way that the link is keyword optimized. This is important because you don’t just use any old text in your web links, you want to use a clear set of keywords and you want to target the long tail variety because its easier to rank for.

Off page SEO factors.

This all evolves around your linking strategy.

Variety is a key element of your overall linking strategy. Google and the other search Engines rank sites based on popularity. So your link efforts should reflect this natural link style. So cover a wide range of linking partners such as blogs, rss feeds, articles, social media sites and press releases. the more diverse your incoming links are the greater the weight they will carry.

Your links should also be relevant for your sites content. So in other words make sure the links you go for are in the same niche or at least similar. Google may or may not rank you for links that are clearly not related to the theme of your particular site or niche, that’s because a link is a link but some have more weight than others. So for an example do not link to a site about Tattoos when your niche is hypnotherapy. These are not related in any way. Now Google may rank you and give you credit for the link but frankly who is going to come visit your site on hypnotherapy from a tattoo site, probably not many if any at all. So be mindful that its o.k to get a link that is not on target but do not actively seek these out as a rule.
Always remember the Goal is natural search engine traffic so focus on that and seek to link to relevant sites in your niche.

Have a strong keyword strategy
Keywords are very important in terms of SEO and especially when you are linking to another site hoping to have Google rank you for your target keyword. So when you link to another website from say a blog comment or an article site you use a consistent keyword (a single phrase) strategy that you set out right from the start. Pick a single keyword phrase that you want to rank for and use that link in every anchor text link space you can find until your site ranks for that phrase on page one of Google. THEN and only then pick a new keyword phrase and repeat the process for that new keyword phrase. Remembering of course to keep linking to new sites using the OLD keyword too to retain your number one position for that keyword.

Consistent growth.
Now lets say you have a new website that right off the bat gets say 100 links in the first week and then nothing for a month. Google is going to question the legitimacy of the value in that new site. Because this linking pattern is not natural and the lack of new links over time means the relevance and popularity of your site is on the way down so that will translate into a lower ranking in the search engines. So be consistent with your link building efforts and try to reach a situation where you continue link building on a routine basis with routine results spread evenly over time. Then your site will reach the top and more importantly stay at the top in the longer term

Deep Linking
Equally important in the overall strategy is the deep link. Now deep links are promotion of pages that are not your index page. In the case of a blog you want to deep link your posts to external sites such as article directories especially when you write an article on a subject that is either the same or related to a post on your blog. Use the same strategy of keyword loaded anchor text from your article to the blog post using an anchor link but make sure the anchor link is not just to the first page of your blog but deep inside it to the related post. Again this is a demonstration of natural link building. The ratio of deep links to those to the index page should be close to 50/50 if possible. Now this is not a set figure but a guide. I use the figure based upon my own experience of the search engines and how they work etc.

So to recap, use a variety of websites to get links from but make sure they have some relevance for the website you are promoting. Use keyword rich anchor text links and link not only to your index page of your site but also deep into the guts of your website to other pages and content. Grow your links consistently and at a regular growth rate.

If you do this and are smart about it you can achieve a natural first page ranking in a really short period of time. So get building…..
